KOENIGSEGG AGERA RS – TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010, the Koenigsegg Agera marked a significant evolution of the previous CCX model. While retaining its predecessor's technical foundations, the Agera introduced a completely redesigned body, an upgraded interior, and a new-generation powertrain. During the early development stages, the car was initially equipped with a 4.7-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, later replaced by a more powerful 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. Its advanced carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, featuring an aluminum honeycomb structure, was engineered to deliver exceptional torsional rigidity while keeping overall weight to a minimum. The standard Agera produces approximately 960 hp, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (0–62 mph) in around 3 seconds and reaching a claimed top speed exceeding 390 km/h (242 mph). In 2015, Koenigsegg introduced the Agera RS, an extensively refined version featuring significant aerodynamic, mechanical, and performance enhancements, destined to become one of the fastest production hypercars ever built. On November 4, 2017, the Koenigsegg Agera RS, driven by factory test driver Niklas Lilja, achieved an extraordinary production-car speed record on Nevada's Route 160, between Las Vegas and Pahrump. During two consecutive runs in opposite directions, the Agera RS recorded an average speed of 447.19 km/h (277.87 mph), reaching an astonishing peak speed of approximately 457.94 km/h (284.55 mph).

This remarkable achievement established the Koenigsegg Agera RS as an icon of modern automotive engineering, combining extreme power, lightweight construction, and cutting-edge aerodynamics in one of the most extraordinary hypercars ever produced.
