We at GPmodeling wanted to prepare engine Transkits dedicated to 2 versions of Lancia Stratos HF engines: the 24-valve version (the one used in the Alitalia versions from the San Remo Rally in October 1975 up to the end of 1977) and to the 12-valve version – second series - i.e. the one used for example in the Pirelli livery (relegated to European championship only) and for all races starting from 1 January 1978 (as, due to the new Sporting Regulations, it was necessary to return to 12-valve engines). From 1972 to October 1975, however, 12-valve engines were used which were very similar to the road configuration with a different position of the alternator and battery compared to the latest version we proposed.
Both our Transkits are composed of over 50 3D printed parts as always supplied on print media specifically designed to be as inconspicuous as possible.
Each Transkit comes with 3 different types of exhaust tips, 2 different airboxes, intake ducts with and without mesh and finally two additional brake discs equipped with bolts and studs to represent the vehicle without a wheel. 12-valve engines differ from 24-valve engines mainly in the shape of the cylinder head covers, the position of the alternator and distributor, and the position of some accessories on the chassis. And from the exhaust manifolds. In fairness it must be said that only one type of exhaust manifold is supplied (obviously different between 12 and 24 valves). In reality there were different types with different shapes and lengths. But it would have been too onerous to provide for the whole series of collectors as well.
For the sake of completeness, we would like to remind you that injection instead of carburettor versions were also built. Most of the Hasegawa car kits currently on the market can be combined with these two TKs.
Project by Claudio de Bellis
Produced by GPmodeling
Our transkit is handcrafted and produced with a 3D resin printer. It is not a LANCIA brand kit, but a very faithful replica of the 1/1 scale version. This kit is sold disassembled, suitable for experienced modellers only.
