More than 40 years later, GPmodeling and Claudio De Bellis bring back to life one of the most advanced achievements of Italian automotive engineering: the Lancia Delta S4 engine, reproduced as a complete 1/24 scale 3D resin kit.
It would have been wonderful to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this masterpiece together with its creator, engineer Claudio Lombardi. The Lancia Delta S4, developed for FIA Group B homologation, was born from the collaboration between Lancia Borgo San Paolo and Abarth Corse, under the technical direction of Claudio Lombardi, with the goal of returning Lancia to the top of the World Rally Championship between 1985 and 1986. At the heart of the car was a highly sophisticated 1759 cm³ inline four-cylinder engine, centrally mounted and featuring: magnesium alloy engine block - aluminum alloy cylinder head - Cermetal-treated cylinder liners - four Nimonic valves per cylinder, a high-performance alloy used in aerospace applications. A defining feature of the project was its legendary twin-charging system: Abarth Volumex positive-displacement supercharger - KKK K27 turbocharger

This solution ensured instant low-rpm response and exceptional high-rpm power, allowing the engine to evolve from 250 hp in the road version to over 500 hp in competition trim, with adjustable overboost up to 2.3 bar.
